Tarkan and Colakoglu pictured together backstage at Colakoglu's launch show at the Turkcell Kurucesme ArenaTarkan appeared at the Turkcell Kuruçeşme Arena in Istanbul yesterday evening to perform at long-time producer and close friend Ozan Çolakoğlu's launch concert for Çolakoğlu's début album 01.

The sold-out album launch show was opening night for a series of summer concerts at the Arena, as a host of stars came out for the evening to take to the stage with Çolakoğlu, and launch their contributions to his début album for the first time in public.

Çolakoğlu's highly anticipated 2012 début album gathers together some of the greatest singers of Turkish pop alongside Tarkan - Sezen Aksu, Ajda Pekkan, Sertap Erener, Yalın, Göksel and maNga group's lead singer Ferman, to name a few.

All the singers, with the exception of Aksu who had a prior concert engagement, appeared on stage yesterday evening at Çolakoğlu's album release party to showcase their songs from the celebrity producer's album.

Emphasising his full support for his musical collaborator, Tarkan shared photographs from the 2nd June event on his Facebook account today, while organiser BKM shared notes from the concert, the first of their summer series, on its Facebook page.

The king of Turkish pop posted 16 photographs from the launch show, with a message in Turkish to thank his fans for their support.

It was so exciting to share my songs with you for the first time at the "Ozan Çolakoğlu 01" album launch concert. Your attention, enthusiasm, participation and love for "AŞK GİTTİ BİZDEN" (Love Left Us) has made me very happy. Thank you :)

Meanwhile on BKM's Facebook account, BKMonline, the event organiser provided notes from an unforgettable evening when the stars came out to take to the stage with Çolakoğlu.

The concert began with a 3D model of Çolakoğlu's album insignia descending from the stage to convert into his DJ platform for the run of the show.

Tarkan took the stage amongst an array of special effects and strobe lights. A packed out audience sang "Aşk Gitti Bizden" along with Tarkan, having quickly taken the 2012 summer track to their hearts, which the pop king had released only a day before on his official accounts.

The artist followed up an energetic performance with his cover version of Aksu's milestone dance track "Hadi Bakalım" from Çolakoğlu's album. In response to calls from the crowd for an encore, Tarkan sang "Aşk Gitti Bizden" again.

Following a star line up of guests, the concert ended with Pekkan singing the Tarkan track "Ben Yanmışım" written for the popular producer's album, while making her finale with the award-winning Tarkan song "Yakar Geçerim" - which had brought her own album success last year - to bring the evening's star studded performances to a close, BKMonline notes.

Founded in 1995, the BKM Organisation has organised concert tours as BKM productions, to make it one of the most successful Turkish companies for indoor and outdoor venues in Istanbul. This year it is organising Kuruçeşme's star-studded nights of music for summer 2012.

Istanbul's largest concert area, the Turkcell Kuruçeşme Arena announced its 2012 event program last month, which includes many international artists. The 17,000 people venue, located on the coast of the Bosphorus, will host world renowned stars, including Lenny Kravitz, Tom Jones, Macy Gray, and Enrico Macias.

It's 2012 program of concerts was kick started by Ozan Çolakoğlu's album launch concert on the 2nd June. Other entertainment reports write that this was Tarkan's first time performing at the Arena.
