Festival Turka in Dortmund 2012The Westfallenhalle concert hall in Dortmund hosted a Turkish music festival on April 8, featuring performances from 15 musicians and groups on four stages at the Westfallenhalle. Tickets cost 19 euros for the sold out festival, and audiences also had the chance to meet with the groups and singers.

The main hall hosted Tarkan; the second hosted Hande Yener, Soner Sarıkabadayı, Demet Akalın, Bengü and Rafet El Roman; the third featured performances by Gülşen, Halil Sezai, Tan and Atiye, while the fourth included Turkish rock groups such as Duman, Manga, Seksendört, Gripin and Model.

A week prior to the show, professional dancer Danielle Peazer - current girlfriend of boy band One Direction's Liam Payne - tweeted that she would be one of the dancers accompanying Tarkan on stage for the Dortmund musical extravaganza.

The Turkish King of Pop shared photographs on his official Facebook page from the rehearsals of his Dortmund show, telling his followers that he was "so excited" before his headline event. After giving a musical treat to a packed hall of over 15,000 people, the singer shared photographs of the show.

"Dortmund Show was amazing. There was an awesome crowd with a gorgeous energy. Thanks to all my fans who were there," Tarkan wrote on his timeline.

Tarkan had headlined for another German-Turkish fest in 2004 when Berlin had hosted over 50 events celebrating Turkish musical talent.
